Golden Globes Winners -thoughts
TV
The award I was happiest about: Clare Danes and HOMELAND!! Danes is utterly amazing in this role and the show is very well-written and so clever. Such a great cast surrounds Danes. So happy
The huh? moment: Laura Dern wins for ENLIGHTENED?? Who watches that show?
The award that made me happy but should have gone to someone else: As much as I admire Kelsey Grammer in BOSS, Bryan Cranston is THE BOSS. He really deserves some Globe love.
Predictable snooze award: MODERN FAMILY is funny enough but It would have been great to see one of the fantastic freshman shows honoured.
Film
The utterly predictable awards: Clooney, Streep, Spencer, Williams, THE ARTIST, THE DESCENDENTS….
The most adorable man on stage all night award: Christopher Plummer you are a gorgeous human being and talented actor
The surprising but deserved award: Scorsese!!! Every time I see him I want to hug him
The best speech award: comedy: George Clooney speaking about Micahel Fassbender -“Thank you Michael for taking over my full frontal male nudity duties. Really, you could play golf with your hands behind your back”.
The best speech award: serious: A SEPARATION director Asghar Farhadi shows what it is to be humble. “I just want to thank my people”.
The Ceremony
The host: I think it’s time for someone new. I few funny jokes at NBC and the Globe’s expense, but otherwise really flat. He seemed to have less stage time than previous years.
The presenters: Some really odd choices and flat deliveries -Jane Fonda?? Why?
That’s it for the Globes! Bring on The Oscars
