Tintin in 3D on Christmas Night! What a fun treat indeed.
First all I have to say that I think the 3D is not necessary to enjoy this film. The 3D fee + the eye strain doesn’t make the few scenes where the 3D really pops worth it in my opinion.
Once you get past how creepy the animation of the people is, it is pretty damn spectacular.
The film is worth seeing for a few amazing set action pieces alone. They have a really Indiana Jones ish feeling about them. The score really adds to the feeling of old school [epic] adventure.
On the downside the story is a little confusing and muddling in bits. The stitching of muliple stories from the books together doesn’t really work in places. I think younger children might find this film quite hard to follow.
I’ll go and see the next film, but I think I’ll go for the old fashioned 2D version.
